Tayla Moeykens won Cheyenne Frontier Days on the sport’s new playoff bracket, KariAnn Cross turned the Days of ’47 in Salt Lake City into the biggest payday of the week at roughly $21,147, and Kappie Bryant swept the Red Rocket Futurity in South Jordan, Utah, all recapped on this week’s episode of The Rundown on The Money Barrel.

Cheyenne Frontier Days (Cheyenne, Wyoming)

The Daddy of ‘Em All ran on a new WPRA Playoff Series bracket in 2026, moving 72 racers through six first-round performances and three semifinals to a 12-woman final on July 26, with $100,000 added.

Champion ($12,148 in the final, $16,266 for the week): Tayla Moeykens of Three Forks, Montana, and KN Fames Best Yet, 17.41. Moeykens won her first-round performance at 17.55 and advanced through the semifinals.

Reserve ($10,053): Jana Bean, 17.44, three-hundredths off the title.

Third ($7,959): Loralee Ward, 17.48, ahead of Steely Steiner and Kim Squires.

Emily Beisel had the fastest run of the week at 17.37, winning the third performance a hundredth ahead of 2025 champion Lisa Lockhart. First-round performance winners each collected $2,642.

Days of ’47 (Salt Lake City, Utah)

A four-bracket tournament with the top two out of each bracket advancing to an eight-woman final, where the winner collected $18,000.

Champion ($18,000, about $21,147 for the stop): KariAnn Cross, who won her bracket at 17.22 and then ran the fastest time of the final at 16.96. The single biggest payday of the week.

Reserve ($13,000): Hayle Gibson-Stillwell, 16.97, one-hundredth back.

Third ($8,000): McKenna Coronado, 17.03, with Gracen Harman fourth and Lisa Lockhart fifth.

Lockhart was fastest of the bracket round at 17.14, and Coronado, Cross and Carlee Otero took the other three brackets.

Spanish Fork Fiesta Days and Ogden Pioneer Days (Utah)

The two biggest one-run checks of the week both came out of Utah’s Pioneer week.

Spanish Fork ($13,683): Amanda Butler won it in 16.88, a single check that put her 11th on the week. Megan McLeod-Sprague was second at 16.90 for $10,946.

Ogden ($13,701): Hailey Kinsel won it in 17.11 for the biggest check of the week, moving to No. 2 in the world past Kassie Mowry. Jordan Driver was second at 17.19.

Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi cashed at both, fourth at Spanish Fork and fifth at Ogden, and now sits 15th in the world with more than $70,000 projected.

Week 4 Money Leaders (July 20 to 26)

Every check across the week, United States and Canada, including Cheyenne’s full bracket, semifinal and finals payouts per ProRodeo.com.

•  KariAnn Cross, $22,193, on the Days of ’47 title and a third at Red Desert.

•  Tayla Moeykens, $18,175, on the Cheyenne championship and a Central Montana PRCA win.

•  Hailey Kinsel, $17,562, almost all of it in one run at Ogden.

•  Lisa Lockhart, $17,543, across three rodeos, projected 13th in the world at about $81,000.

•  Loralee Ward, $15,457, with $12,345 of it at Cheyenne.

•  Jana Bean, $15,426, nearly all from the Cheyenne runner-up run.

•  Hayle Gibson-Stillwell, $15,360, on the Days of ’47 reserve, and still No. 1 in the world.

Behind them: Megan McLeod-Sprague at $14,806 and projected 11th, Morgan Addison at $13,800, Amanda Butler at $13,683 on one check, Jordan Driver at $12,534, Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi at $12,322, Kara Kreder at $12,156, Carlee Otero at $11,090 on six checks and holding fifth, and Kim Squires at $10,077.

Rockyford: Pamela Morrison, 16.53 ($2,143).

Medicine Hat Stampede: Tammy Lee Taylor, 17.38 ($3,901), with Suzanne DePaoli second.

Bruce Stampede: Jordyn Tresidder, 17.32 ($2,023).

DePaoli led the week north of the border at $4,710.58, just ahead of Taylor and Morrison. Heather Crowley worked both sides, third at Medicine Hat and a tie for fourth at Lewistown, Montana, and sits about 30th in the WPRA world standings at $40,636.

The Red Rocket (South Jordan, Utah)

Five days at the Bastian Ag Center with go-rounds and averages in the Futurity, Derby and Open. The Xtreme Mini Million and Big Time ran as sidepots.

Futurity champion ($3,017): Kappie Bryant and Rdc Nofunnybidness, 31.873 on two, by Ain’t Seen Nothin Yet out of Streakingivemeawink, by A Streak Of Fling. Jill Atkinson and Good Buy were reserve at 32.214.

Derby champion ($2,504): Marcie Wilson and Mj Loretta Lane, 31.825 on two, by The Goodbye Lane out of Jesse James Agent, by Jesse James Jr. Edria Day and Squirt Of Fame were reserve at 31.962.

Open: Taylor Miniat and Runnin Ron won Round 1 in 15.870, Bryant won Round 2 in 15.857. The Open pays per round with no aggregate.

Youth and Senior: Klancee Chappel and Judge Spice took the Youth at 32.674, and Squirt Of Fame backed up her Derby reserve by winning the Senior.

Bryant and Rdc Nofunnybidness won both Futurity go-rounds, the average and Open Round 2. Runnin Ron won Derby Round 1 and Open Round 1.

Dash N Dance (Spearfish, South Dakota)

South Dakota’s futurity run rolled on July 27 with 182 in the Maturity, 133 in the Futurity and a 457-entry Rodeo Rigs Saturday 5D.

Maturity champion ($1,212): Casey Varpness and SC Ima Epic Winner, 26.918 on two, by Epic Leader out of Shake It Frenchie, by Frenchmans Guy. Fonda Melby and RF Back For the Cash were reserve at 26.953.

Fastest run of the week: Maggie Poloncic and Aint Seen Her Yet, a 13.292 to win the Maturity second go on her 10-year-old.

Futurity champion ($2,155.80): Josie Cole and Perfect I Am, 27.511 on two, by Epically Famous out of Chasing Firebugs, by Chasin Firewater. Poloncic and Sharkee Bug Leo were reserve at 27.598.

Futurity go-round winners: Kayla Jones and SmokinnTheGirlsRoom took the first go in 13.593, and Tara Webb and BW Sunseisonal had the fastest Futurity run of the weekend at 13.649 to win the second.

Varpness also won the Maturity first go and the Rodeo Rigs 5D open out of 457 entries at 13.408 for $1,358.60, plus nearly every sidepot, all on the same mare. Epic Leader sired the Maturity champion and is the paternal grandsire of the Futurity champion through his son Epically Famous.

National High School Finals Rodeo (Lincoln, Nebraska)

Barrel Racing Champion: Skyler Nicholas, who took the aggregate by half a second.

Pole Bending Champion: Zoey Wagoner, a 60.4 on three runs.

All-Around Champion: Braydee Bourdet, who added a reserve finish in the pole bending.

NBHA Youth & Teen World Championships (Perry, Georgia)

More than 2,300 competitors from six countries came to the Georgia National Fairgrounds July 18 to 25, with better than $105,000 added and both divisions decided in a Sunday finals round.

Youth World Champion ($4,076): Kadisson Shank and Biankus A Fortune, 14.668, a Tres Fortunes gelding. Ella Kate Williams and Funny Firewater were six-thousandths back at 14.674 after winning both go-rounds on the way in, a 14.694 and a 14.384.

Teen World Champion ($6,602): Summer Muhlenkamp and Ts French Traffic, 14.596, by First Down Frenchman. Braia Vogel and Chicks Brave Warrior missed it by a thousandth at 14.597, having won the second go-round at 14.672. Crystal Mason and Cha Ching Fling 37 won Round 1 in 14.630.
