Four of the 13 WPRA circuits have new leaders since the August board: Piper Cordes in the Badlands, Cassie Brantmayer in First Frontier, Tayla Moeykens in Montana and Kristi Cole in Texas. Nine held.

Three live finals bubbles sit inside $115 at the No. 12 line, and a fourth, in the Badlands, closed with its entry window Sept. 9. Kathy Grimes has more than tripled her Columbia River total since Aug. 4, winning $38,720 to reach $56,181.

Each circuit takes its top 12 into its finals, and a rider has to meet a minimum counted-rodeo requirement in that circuit by the entry cut-off to enter. The Badlands cut-off passed Sept. 9. Texas closes Sept. 13, California and Mountain States Sept. 23, and the other nine Sept. 30. Every figure below is off the WPRA board as of Sept. 10.

The 13 circuit leaders

Each of the 13 is a separate race with its own top 12. Running alphabetically, off the Sept. 10 board:

Cole moved from No. 5 to No. 1 in Texas on 26 rodeos, $1,564 up on Morgan Addison. Brantmayer moved up from No. 2 in First Frontier on 21 rodeos, with Alyssa LoBello $1,596 back.

Three live bubbles inside $115

First Frontier is the tightest No. 12 line in the country. Katie Russell holds No. 12 at $2,100.37 and Sam Vallone is $17.95 back at No. 13.

Columbia River is next: Ainsley Philippi is No. 12 at $10,954.25 with Hailey Garrison Graham $100.98 back at No. 13. Great Lakes follows, where Savannah Shumpert holds No. 12 at $8,939.70 and Nikki Reynolds is $113.42 back at No. 13. The Badlands line is a half-dollar wider at $113.92, Molly Otto over Bobbi Olson at No. 13, but that entry window closed Sept. 9.

The minimums and the Texas deadline

Every circuit except Maple Leaf publishes a minimum counted-rodeo requirement, and it is lower for residents than for non-residents. Each rider’s count is in the Rodeos column of the tables below.

Texas is the next board to close, on Sept. 13. The Texas minimum is 15 counted Texas rodeos for residents and 25 for non-residents, and nine of the circuit’s current top 12 are at 15 or better. The three under that bar are Kassie Mowry, No. 3 on four counted Texas rodeos, Sydney Graham, No. 9 on 13, and Tricia Aldridge, No. 11 on eight. All three are running a national schedule that has them No. 4, No. 6 and No. 10 in the world standings. Turquoise sets the lowest resident minimum at 10. Great Lakes sets the highest non-resident minimum at 29.

Where the world leaders sit in their circuits

All 10 riders in the world top 10 also sit in a circuit top 12. Four of them lead one: Carlee Otero, No. 2 in the world at $185,856, in the Wilderness; Emily Beisel, No. 3 at $182,132, in Prairie; Moeykens, No. 8 at $133,584, in Montana; and Grimes, No. 9 at $121,863, in Columbia River.

The other six sit No. 2 or lower in theirs. Hayle Gibson-Stillwell leads the world standings at $186,077 and is No. 2 in California behind Kathy Petska. Kassie Mowry is No. 4 in the world and No. 3 in Texas, Hailey Kinsel No. 5 and No. 5 in the Badlands, Sydney Graham No. 6 and No. 9 in Texas, Michelle Alley No. 7 and No. 2 in the Wilderness, and Tricia Aldridge No. 10 and No. 11 in Texas.
