Let’s keep it simple. You came for North Dakota Rough Rider Cup daysheets and to talk about the money, and it’s all below.

Thirty-six barrel racers get one run apiece at $60,000 added at the North Dakota Rough Rider Cup, Sept. 18-20 at the Dale Pahlke Arena on the Dakota Community Bank & Trust Rodeo Grounds in Mandan, North Dakota. The rodeo pays 12 places, and it is the last Cinch Playoff Series stop on the calendar before the Sept. 21 cutoff that sets the Governor’s Cup field in Sioux Falls.

Performances run Friday and Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. There is no slack.

The Format

  • Dates: Sept. 18-20, 2026
  • Where: Dale Pahlke Arena, Dakota Community Bank & Trust Rodeo Grounds
  • Performances: Sept. 18 and Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m., Sept. 20 at 2:00 p.m.
  • Added money: $60,000
  • Cinch Playoff Series Rodeo
  • Format: one go, limited to 36, paying 12 places

How the Field Was Set

The top 32 from the 2026 WPRA Pro Rodeo World Standings, taken seven days before entries opened, are in. The last four spots went to the champions of four qualifying rodeos: Mandan (July 2-4), Deadwood, South Dakota (July 19-25), Aberdeen, South Dakota (Aug. 10-11) and Rapid City, South Dakota (Aug. 23-25).

If one of those champions was already qualified off the world standings, the spot passed to the next rider on that rodeo’s sheet, not past fifth place, then reverted to the world standings. The 30-hour replacement and walk-up replacement policies are both in effect.

What’s on the Line

Money first. Makenzie Mayes holds the 15th spot in the world at $108,542 and Austyn Tobey is 16th at $100,157, a gap of $8,385, in BarrelRacing.com’s projected world standings through Sept. 16. Neither figure includes Pendleton, which had not paid a dollar in barrel racing as of that date. Both riders are entered at Mandan, and both run in the second performance.

A win at Mandan paid $12,938 in 2025. A tie for second paid $10,027. On last year’s money, either one covers that $8,385 on its own.

They are not the only two with something to move. Summer Kosel, Loralee Ward, Andrea Busby and Heidi Gunderson are all on the sheet. Where each of them sits, and what each of them needs, is broken down in our NFR bubble report.

Points second. The Cinch Playoffs Governor’s Cup in Sioux Falls, Sept. 25-27, takes the top four out of Puyallup plus the top eight in the 2026 Playoff Series standings as of Sept. 21. Mandan ends Sept. 20. It is the last rodeo on the schedule that can move that board.

The world title race is here too. Carlee Otero, Hayle Gibson-Stillwell and Emily Beisel, the top three in those same projected standings, are all entered.

What a Check Paid in 2025

The added money is the same $60,000 it was in 2025, and the format is the same one go paying 12. Here is what it paid last year, per ProRodeo.com’s unofficial results.

1. Austyn Tobey, 18.06 seconds, $12,938; 2. (tie) Lisa Lockhart and Katelyn Scott, 18.18, $10,027 each; 4. Halyn Lide, 18.20, $7,763; 5. Wenda Johnson, 18.36, $6,469; 6. Katie Halbert, 18.44, $4,528; 7. Andrea Busby, 18.69, $3,235; 8. Ashley Day, 18.70, $2,588; 9. Julie Plourde, 18.71, $2,264; 10. Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi, 18.81, $1,941; 11. McKenna Coronado, 18.84, $1,617; 12. Michelle Alley, 18.87, $1,294.
