NFR hopeful barrel racers returned to their ProRodeo circuits for Memorial Day Weekend on the ProRodeo trail, but Leslie Smalygo managed to capitalize on Prairie Circuit and World Standings earnings with a stellar barrel racing weekend.
World Standings Shakeup: Gus and Smalygo won the Will Rogers Stampede in Claremore, Oklahoma, in 17.16 seconds, earning $2,760 for the win. They also placed at Fredonia, Kansas, picking up another $169. The $2,929 in earnings, combined with her previous money won of $72,647 gives her a total of $75,576 on the year, edging her ahead of Wenda Johnson’s $74,938.
