In this episode of The Money Barrel, 17-year-old Rylee Jo Maryman joins host Kayla Jones just days before making her second appearance at The American Rodeo at Globe Life Field, following a standout final four finish in 2024.
The Saint Francisville, Louisiana, teenager reflects on what she learned from last year’s pressure-filled performance and how she’s preparing to step back into one of barrel racing’s biggest spotlights — all before she’s even wrapped up high school.
“It’s a lot of pressure, but it’s also the coolest thing ever,” Maryman said. “I try to treat it like any other run, but you walk into that alley and it hits different.”
In the episode, she talks about:
- The mindset she’s taking into her 2025 run at The American
- Her partnership with “Sissy” (One Cupa Tees Sis)
- The lessons she’s carrying forward from her 2024 final four finish
- Life on the road as a teenager juggling school, horses, and high-level competition
“I’ve learned that just showing up is half the battle,” she said. “You can’t be scared to run with the best — you just go in and do your job.”
