For the first time in 2026, the name at the top of the projected WPRA world standings is not Kassie Mowry, it’s Hayle Gibson-Stillwell.

The last full week of July is the richest stretch of the summer run, and it moved the standings. Cheyenne Frontier Days crowned its champion under the new WPRA Playoff bracket, and the Utah trifecta of Days of ’47, Spanish Fork and Ogden paid five-figure checks all week. When the money posted, Kassie Mowry was no longer on top of BarrelRacing.com’s unofficial projected standings.

A new name on top

Hayle Gibson-Stillwell moved into the projected lead off her Days of ’47 run in Salt Lake aboard Buncha Dinero, “Piper.” She was second in the finals for $13,000, and with her bracket money the week was worth $15,360, which pushed her to $174,719.50.

Mowry had her quietest week while the others have been gaining ground. A single bracket check at Days of ’47 was all she added, $787. She sits third unofficially at $163,119.69.

Hailey Kinsel slid in between them. She won Ogden Pioneer Days on DM Sissy Hayday in 17.11 for $13,701, and her $17,562 week with Cheyenne Frontier Days earnings on TR Judges Doll, “Reese,” moved her to $164,915.11, less than $1,800 ahead of Mowry. Gibson-Stillwell leads Kinsel by about $9,800, and the three of them fit inside $11,600. Mowry led that same group a week ago.

Seven over $100,000

Tayla Moeykens is the newest name over $100,000. She won Cheyenne Frontier Days on KN Fames Best Yet, running 17.41 in the finals for $12,148, and between about $16,266 at Cheyenne and a win at Central Montana she made $18,175 on the week. That moved her to $102,868.57 and seventh. She joins Mowry, Gibson-Stillwell, Kinsel, Emily Beisel ($151,173.17), Carlee Otero ($145,885.35) and Michelle Alley ($122,079.94) over six figures, with the fall run still to come.

The richest week of the summer

The biggest checks were in Utah. KariAnn Cross and DK Star Biankus won the Days of ’47 in 16.96 for $18,000, the anchor of a $22,193 week that led all barrel racers in earnings, though she sits too far back to reach the top 25. Amanda Butler won Spanish Fork for $13,683, and Kinsel’s Ogden win came on a night that paid Jordan Driver $10,961 for second. McKenna Coronado cashed at Days of ’47, Spanish Fork and Ogden and won a Cheyenne performance round on home dirt, $17,896 in all, which carried her from outside the top 25 to its edge.

Cheyenne’s bracket format paid the women who ran their best on finals Sunday. Loralee Ward was third in the finals on Florari for $7,959 and $12,345 at Cheyenne overall. Jana Bean was second on Flashin Bills for $10,053 and $14,570 on the week. Megan McLeod-Sprague was second at Spanish Fork for $10,946, and Lisa Lockhart added $17,543 across Ogden, Cheyenne and Days of ’47.

The bottom of the 25 turns over

The top six held, but the standings under them moved. Ward climbed seven spots and Bean six, both on their Cheyenne finals money. Lockhart moved up five, Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi and McLeod-Sprague three apiece. The riders who did not cash dropped: Tricia Aldridge, who led the Salinas coverage a week ago, added nothing and fell from 15th, and Makenzie Mayes, Summer Kosel and Morgan Bagnell all lost ground. The bottom of the top 25 is tight, with Heidi Gunderson, Alyssa Urbanek-Wade, Anita Ellis and Heather Crowley within a few thousand dollars of one another and Coronado, Kara Kreder and Jordan Driver right behind on their Utah money.

The Playoff Series still tilts the fall

The world standings are not the only board that matters. Through the rodeos ending July 22, Gibson-Stillwell also leads the WPRA Playoff Series points race at 910.26, ahead of Beisel at 896.13, with Otero (804.00), Moeykens (686.00) and Mowry (676.38) next. Playoff Series position lines a rider up for the richest added-money rodeos of the fall, and that money counts toward the world, so Gibson-Stillwell now leads both boards. Kinsel is the exception among the top contenders. She has climbed on the open road and at Calgary rather than through the Playoff Series, which leaves the biggest late-season checks lined up in front of Gibson-Stillwell and Beisel first.

Still a long way to Vegas

None of this is settled. The board is a projection, Calgary money added to the posted WPRA standings, and the last two NFRs have shown that ten rounds in December can rewrite a season. But the 2026 race looks different than it did a week ago: a new leader, a top three inside $12,000, seven women over $100,000, and the Playoff Series pointing the richest fall paydays toward the same rider now sitting first.
