On Sunday, July 16, the Calgary Stampede concluded in a drama-filled semifinals and finals in Alberta. When the dust settled it was Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi who checked a big mark off her bucket list by earning the Calgary Championship on her 19th trip to the arena. Her weapon of choice was Jets Top Gun, a 2015 gelding by Blazin Jetolena and out of GL Famous First Lady by Dash Ta Fame.

Tonozzi stated in a post-run interview that her win was proof that “dreams do come true,” and showed the fans tons of emotion on stage as she was presented with her $50,000 check— $25,000 of which will go toward the world standings—and they exploded in cheers back.
