Highpoint Performance Horses takes pride in their barrel horse feeding and supplement program, and that includes feeding horses ranging from record-breaking stallion Slick By Design and his son Slye By Design in the breeding shed to Wenda Johnson’s NFR mounts MacGyver Moonflash “Mac” and Steal Money “Mo.”

Slick By Design’s Supplements
Slick By Design is a household name in the barrel racing industry now, but when Highpoint Performance Horse owners Charlie Cole and Jason Martin first laid eyes on the black stallion, he’d just won his first major title at the 2012 AQHA World Championships in the Junior Barrels at the age of 5.
“We got him bought, and that first year of rodeo with him and Michelle McLeod was like a storybook,” Martin said. “He made it to the NFR that first year and we went four years in a row.”
To date, Slick boasts $626,962 in earnings on QData, much of which came from his round wins at the NFR with McLeod.
Now making his mark in the breeding barn, Slick is passing his easygoing mindset to performance prospects of all disciplines. He’s surpassed the $5 million mark in barrel racing progeny and boasts more than $110,000 in the roping pen.
“He’s phenomenal-minded, he’s really agile and he’s really smart,” Martin said. “He makes really good rope horses.”

Wenda Johnson’s mounts MacGyver Moonflash and Steal Money
The ProRodeo road is a tough one, but both Highpoint and Wenda Johnson know what it takes to keep horses in top condition.
MacGyver Moonflash “Mac“ – Johnson and Mac won the 2021 Reno Rodeo and 2022 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo.
“Mac is a very consistent, solid horse that will—at times—break records,” Johnson told BRM after she broke the arena record at the FWSSR in 2022. “He is definitely feeling amazing and is in great shape. This was a special event and Mac was confident and happy, he ran his best and seemed so proud of himself.”
Steal Money “Mo” – At the 2021 NFR, Johnson and Mo turned heads when they won the Round 4. It was Johnson’s first NFR round win and Mo was only 5-year-old at the time.
“When everything is kind of just right for Moe, that’s the kind of run he makes,” Johnson told BRM following her round win. “He’s been doing that for me for the past few months, just making these smooth, beautiful runs.”
They won Round 1 and Round 7 at the 2022 edition of the NFR, too.
