In this episode of The Money Barrel, Kathleen Daigle talks with host Kayla Jones about her work as an animal communicator and how it applies directly to horses in training and competition.
Raised in Canada, Daigle grew up with horses and recognized early that she could sense things about them others couldn’t. After years of teaching school, she turned her focus full-time to helping riders understand what their horses are feeling. Now based in Texas, she works with horses and owners across disciplines — including many barrel racers — often identifying pain, stress, or behavior issues that aren’t obvious at first glance.
“When I connect with a horse, I share exactly what I receive,” Daigle explained. “It’s not my interpretation — it’s what the horse gives me”.
Her work has pinpointed issues like ulcers, foot soreness, and stress triggers that can change the way a horse works in the arena. Just as often, she highlights how a rider’s own mindset affects the horse beneath them.
“If you don’t work on yourself first, you can’t help your horse,” Daigle said.
The episode covers how Daigle manages the challenges of working with so many horses, her approach to balancing faith and horsemanship, and real examples of what horses “say” when given the chance to communicate.
