Summarize: What happened this week
(with projected numbers and earnings)
Austyn Tobey secured the biggest win of the week at the North Dakota Rough Riders Cup, and will likely move into the top 35 in the WPRA World Standings with around $50K on the year.
Otherwise, all eyes are on the NFR cut line as Sept. 30 approaches. We broke down the key information for barrel racers surrounding that No. 15 spot to help make sense of how each cowgirl ended up in our projected World Standings positions.
10. Tayla Moeykens — $134,845
- Did not hit the board this weekend, but her cushion kept her safe.
- Held steady at No. 10.
11. Andrea Busby — $131,183
- Finished 7th at Mandan for $3,235.
- Not a huge check, but enough to keep her comfortably ahead of the cut line.
- Stayed at No. 11.
12. Wenda Johnson — $128,594
- Had one of the strongest weekends of anyone. Collected $6,469 for 5th at Mandan, won Amarillo with a 17.39 for $2,720, and added another $1,804 for the win in Omaha.
- That nearly $11K haul erased any doubts about her bubble status.
- Remained at No. 12 but created major breathing room.
13. Katelyn Scott — $120,411
- The biggest mover of the weekend. Tied Lisa Lockhart for 2nd at Mandan with an 18.18, worth $10,027, added $1,289 for 3rd in Omaha, and was reserve champion in Tyler with a 14.81 for $1,849.
- Those three checks totaled more than $13K.
- Jumped from No. 16 → No. 13, planting herself firmly inside the top 15.
- But remember, Scott isn’t on the list for Sioux Falls.
14. Julie Plourde — $117,090
- Quietly had a very productive week, cashing at five rodeos: 9th at Mandan ($2,264), 5th in Omaha ($859), 7th at Amarillo ($680), 4th in Tyler ($1,305), and a split for 6th in Springhill ($605).
- The nearly $6K total wasn’t flashy, but her consistency kept her trending the right direction.
- Stayed at No. 14 and strengthened her hold inside the cut.
- Plourde also unofficially earned a position into Sioux Falls.
15. Tricia Aldridge — $115,269
- Came up empty this week.
- Dropped from No. 13 → No. 15, now barely hanging on to the final NFR spot.
16. McKenna Coronado — $113,148
- Collected $1,617 for 11th at Mandan, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with the riders moving up.
- Slipped from No. 15 → No. 16, leaving her on the outside looking in.
17. Halyn Lide — $112,756
- Made the most of Mandan with a 4th-place finish worth $7,763.
- That big check pulled her within about $2,500 of the cut.
- Stayed at No. 17, but tightened the race considerably.
