How to Compete at World Championship Junior Rodeo 2025
There are three ways:
- Open Entry: Anyone in the eligible age divisions can enter the preliminary rounds. All competitors in barrel racing or pole bending can enter this way and compete in the qualifying rounds at Lazy E Arena during July 22–26—with a shot at the semifinals.
- Qualifier Series Events (QS): Win a WCJR-sanctioned QS event to earn a free spot in the prelims. WCJR-designated Qualifier Series (QS) rodeos offer a direct route:
- Leaderboard Qualification: Be a top-12 money earner on the 2025 WCJR leaderboard to skip prelims and head straight to the semifinals.
What are the age divisions?
- Youth Division: Ages 10–15
- Junior Division: Ages 13–19
(Note: Rodeo events require competitors to be 15 years or older.)
How much can athletes win?
Each discipline pays out $10,000 to $15,000 in added money, with a guaranteed $400,000+ in total payout across all events.
