[Burleson, Texas]: Celebrity junior stallion The Silk Streaker—a 2017 bay roan stallion by $8-million barrel racing and roping sire A Streak of Fling and out of BFA Champion and top-producing mare Famous Silk Panties—will headline the S Heart Ranch Production Sale on July 28-30, 2023.
The Silk Streaker is ushering in a new era of versatile horses bred to turn and run. His sire, A Streak of Fling, boasts the No. 3 all-time ranking for barrel racing stallions on QData’s leaderboard. ASOF has worked his way up within the top 10 sires on the 2023 QData roping leaderboard, as well. On the dam side, Famous Silk Panties—by No. 1 barrel horse sire, Dash Ta Fame, and out of Martinis and Bikinis— didn’t just earn over $200,000 in the arena herself, she’s proven to throw great athletes. Her progeny, including SR Godiva, The Kandyman and Streakin Silkpanties have already earned nearly $250,000 in the barrel racing, breakaway and team roping arenas.

“His biggest strength is his speed,” said Shawn Kautzsch, owner of S Heart Ranch. “He’s a 1D money-earner in the barrels, but Tate Kirchenschlager is heading on him now, and we’ve all been surprised at how much cow he has. Plus, he has great bone and strength. It’s so unique to have one that can throw great color, enough speed for barrel racing or heading and has that much cow.”
The sale of The Silk Streaker isn’t just exciting for his ability as a producer and athlete—the bay roan sells with paid enrollments into the exclusive Ruby and Riata Buckle incentive programs, making his offspring eligible to run for over $7 million in combined payout between those incentives.
“This stallion definitely shouldn’t be overlooked,” said Cody Shelley, owner of Platinum Horse Sales, who is producing the S Heart Ranch sale. “His future is bright enough to be very deserving of the Ruby and Riata Buckle positions. But the fact is that they aren’t making any more of those spots, so the only way to get involved is to purchase a stallion who has one, and the value just keeps going up.”
