Rodeo Austin is back for another ProRodeo tourament in 2025, and here’s what you’ve missed so far in the barrel racing competition.

The format for Rodeo Austin is unique for a winter ProRodeo tournament-style event.

General Rodeo Austin barrel racing information

Qualification: Barrel racing at Rodeo Austin 2025 features an elite field of 88 contestants competing in a one-run format, followed by Semifinals and Finals. Contestants earn their spots through a combination of past and current performance, with qualifications including the top 18 from the 2024 WPRA Pro Rodeo World Standings, the top 17 from the 2025 standings as of seven days before entries close, the top 4 from the 2024 WPRA Tour standings, and the top 17 from the 2025 Texas Circuit standings. The top 12 from the 2024 Texas Circuit year-end standings are also invited. The remaining 20 positions are filled through an open-to-all qualifier event held prior to the main rodeo. Contestants already qualified through standings are not eligible for the qualifier. Payouts are distributed across the go-round, Semifinals, and Finals.
