Where and how to watch The American Rodeo

What is The American Rodeo format?

The top 15 contenders will compete in the Contender Tournament Finals on Friday, April 11, where the top five fastest times will advance to Saturday.

Come Saturday, these five contenders are eligible for a share of the $1 million sidepot purse, while the five invitees are gunning for a $100,000 prize.

Saturday begins with a round of 10, which will be whittled to a round of four. From there, The American Rodeo Champion will be determined with the fastest time. BarrelRacing.com will have full results and coverage on the website, and on our social media channels during the event.

How do barrel racers qualify for The American Rodeo?

There were two ways for barrel racers to get in on The American Rodeo action:

  1. Be amongst the top five in the 2024 Women’s Professional Rodeo Association World Standings from the previous year (2024).
  2. Finish in the top five in one of the three regional contender tournaments after advancing through the Better Barrel Races qualifying system. Learn more.
