On Mar. 9 inside Globe Life Field, Brandon Cullins posted two stellar barrel racing runs aboard the standout mare MJ Segers Fast Lane to earn a total of $1.1 million at The American Rodeo.
“This is amazing,” Cullins said. “She’s a special horse. It took a lot to get here.”
What it took for the Maryland native was years upon years of hard work, sweat, determination, and a very, very special mare.
Cullins’ 15.173 in the final round earned him the $100,000 barrel racing event win, and the fact that he was the only Contender Qualifier to win The American in 2024, he was awarded the entirety of the $1 million Contender Sidepot.
