The Finale runs through Saturday at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas, with more than $1 million on the line across the Open Futurity, Open Derby, Amateur Derby, Youth, Senior and Open 4D. The Derby and Futurity semi-finals opened Thursday and run their second rounds Friday morning, and every division crowns a champion Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
Payout structure: Breeders Challenge splits every check three ways. The owner takes 60 percent, the stallion owner takes 30 percent and the nominator takes 10 percent. Dollar figures in the tables below show the total placing and the owner share.

High Stakes Challenge

The $10,000-added High Stakes Challenge is the one race of the week open to any horse, enrolled sire or not. It runs a 3D format on a half-second split with an 80 percent payback on a $600 entry, and it takes roll-in times from the Last Chance Qualifier, the Open 4D Finals and both sets of semi-finals. The standings sheet posted through the Futurity semi-final has Chasin Tres Cans on top at 15.441, from Wargo’s Futurity round, with CT Delight and Adios Ameegos next. Final results and awards follow Saturday night.

When is the 2026 Breeders Challenge Championship Finale? Sept. 6–13, 2026, with race days Sept. 8–12 and the Finale itself Saturday, Sept. 12, starting at 1 p.m.
Where is it held? John Justin Arena and Watt Arena at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
How much does the Finale pay? More than $1 million across all divisions. The Open 4D Finals alone paid $200,000 across 60 placings.
How are Breeders Challenge checks split? Owner 60 percent, stallion owner 30 percent, nominator 10 percent.
Which horses are eligible? Breeders Challenge classes are open to eligible offspring of enrolled stallions. The High Stakes Challenge is the exception and is open to any horse.
How much has the program paid out? The Breeders Challenge has paid $11.1 million since 2021.
