It’s another week of The Rundown, and The Money Barrel

EquiStat Reminder

We’ll never stop talking about the importance of accurate results reporting—because it matters. Small jackpots matter, local associations matter, and the big productions definitely matter. Producers: please send Excel files of your results to Qdataresults@gmail.commblack@aqha.orgresults@equistat.combarrelracingreport@gmail.com.Contestants: enter horses under their registered names. It all adds up when it comes time to reflect a horse’s true value.

ShowDown Productions Highlights

The ShowDown Productions high-stakes weekend produced big-time winners.

  • Joy Wargo and M R Bougie Barbara (French Streak To Vegas x RockEmSockEmCash) secured their first futurity championship of 2025, running a 14.297 for $6,486 and totaling $13,595 across classes.
  • Kappie Bryant on Smooth as Rico Suave (“Pancakes”) dominated the Derby championship and was the second fastest overall, cashing $23,602.
  • Braia Vogel and TF Bar Dash Freckles stole the show with the fastest run of the weekend, a 14.240, to claim $23,248. Even more inspiring? The gelding was reportedly purchased out of a kill pen just a few years ago.

WPRA Season Finale

The 2025 WPRA season closed with drama in Sioux Falls, where the 15th-place cutoff sat at a staggering $130,793.

  • Kassie Mowry and Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi held their No. 1 and 2 spots, less than $10,000 apart heading to Vegas.
  • Emily Beisel (No. 3) showed her deep string, winning money on six different horses in 2025.
  • Hailey Kinsel (No. 4) brought Sister back in style, winning Round 2 in Sioux Falls to finish with $186,000.
  • Megan McLeod-Sprague and Jag had a breakout end to the year, racking up $163,213 of her $174,974 total on that one standout gelding.
  • Lisa Lockhart tied history, qualifying for her 19th consecutive NFR.
  • Halyn Lide jumped from 17th to No. 9 with a storybook $32,000 win at the Governor’s Cup.
  • Katelyn Scott grabbed the last spot at No. 15 with a gritty final week of hauling and placing across Texas, California, and New Mexico.

Six rookies will head to Vegas, including Hayle Gibson Stillwell, while veterans like Wenda JohnsonAndrea Busby, and Tricia Aldridge round out the field.

Canadian Finals Rodeo Preview

Next up: the Canadian Finals Rodeo kicks off October 1 with four performances and big payouts. Jayden Wilson leads the standings with $51,952, followed by Taylor Manning ($41,145) and Karli Cowie ($34,232). First-time qualifiers like Madison Wilkerson and Taylor Cherry add fresh faces to the mix, while veterans like Lynette Brodoway and Pamela Morrison bring plenty of CFR experience.

Stay tuned—we’ll have full CFR results and highlights in next week’s Rundown.
