The 2016 palomino stallion, by Dash Ta Fame and out of Silky French Pie by Frenchmans Guy, sells as Hip 97 at Thursday’s 2026 Ruby Buckle April Sale at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma. The 10-year-old is consigned by Taylor Necaise.
The headline of the lot is the Ruby Buckle stallion spot. Spots are limited and rarely come available, and the buyer of Hip 97 takes ownership of his outright. Every future foal he sires will be Ruby Buckle-eligible — and the same applies to his current enrollments in Breeders Challenge, Legends Of The South, and Future Fortunes. All four programs transfer with the stallion.
The pedigree is heavy on both sides, with the female line doing as much of the work as the sire line.
Silky French Pie was a multi-finalist barrel mare in her own right. She took the Bold Heart Breeders Barrel Futurity Championship and finished reserve at the Fizz Bomb Classic, Sunrise Breeders, WPRA Badlands, and Cornhusker barrel futurities. She is the dam of eight AQHA foals age three and over.
Frenchmans Guy, the dam’s sire, anchors one of the most productive female lines in barrel racing. He is the broodmare sire of Adios Pantalones, the 2025 PRCA/WPRA Barrels Year-End Reserve Champion and two-time NFR Round Champion; Epic Guy, the Breeders Challenge Barrel Finale Open Derby Champion; KD Baby Driver, the Breeders Challenge Barrel Finale Derby Champion; and Freckles Ta Fame, twice fifth in the NFR Average. Two of Adios Pantalones’ first foals — Hip 20, Igot Fancy Pantz, and Hip 84, Adios Con Fuego — also sell Thursday.
On the sire side, Dash Ta Fame is among the most influential barrel sires of the past two decades. His named offspring include Famous Lil Jet, the two-time AQHA/PRCA Barrel Horse of the Year; Cuatro Fame, The American Rodeo Barrels Champion; Famous Ladies Man, Calgary Stampede Barrels Champion; Dash Ta Diamonds, an NFR Round Champion and American Rodeo Barrels Reserve Champion; KissKiss Bangbang, fourth in the NFR Average and Diamonds N Dirt Slot Open Champion; Im Famous Babe, three-time NFR Round Reserve Champion; and Freckles Ta Fame, the San Antonio PRCA/WPRA Rodeo Barrels Reserve Champion.
BPH Theskyisthelimit’s first foals are 3-year-olds in 2026. He has 16 AQHA foals and one APHA foal across two crops to date. The first crop has shown size, bone, and consistent palomino coloring.
