In the first week of May, rodeo legacy Worth Evans made another stellar pole bending run on her stallion, BJS Last Venom to add to her stack of 2024 19 & Under aged wins.
Evans challenged the pack of top junior athletes and earned $2,000 for her time of 20.071 seconds, besting all-around athlete Rylie Edens for the title. According to Evans, she’d already amassed $45,000 in the pole bending on Venom during her budding career, a solid chunk of which came from the 2024 Hooey Junior Patriot event.

Flashback: Hooey Junior Patriot
Worth Evans earned the $18,000 victory in a dicey short round at the Hooey Junior Patriot finals inside Will Rogers coliseum thanks to her time of 20.364 seconds back in March.
The competition featured some of the top high school hands from across the country. However, 16-year-old Evans knew her stallion, BJS Last Venom, or “Venom,” was up for the challenge of the event.
“I’ve owned (Venom) for a little over a year and he’s just been amazing,” Evans said. “The first time I ever ran him, we clocked in the 19’s. I struggled with hitting poles for a while, but we’re getting consistent now. This is my first ever big win on him.”
The run didn’t feel flawless to the 16-year-old from Texas, but she made adjustments throughout the run that helped her ultimately shut the clock off.
“I sat down too early on the end pole and we took it a little wide,” Evans said. “I just kept thinking that I had to push him through the run. This ground suited him perfectly—he liked (Will Rogers Coliseum) better than the arena we ran in to qualify.”
