The most anticipated, open-to-the-world barrel race is hitting the streets of Las Vegas in 2023, and it’s time for barrel racers to get their entries into The Patriot Vegas before they close on Nov. 22 at 5 p.m. CST.

Here’s five reasons to enter the event that takes place from, plus all the details you need to know to play under the bright lights of Vegas on Dec. 6-10, 2023.

No. 1: You can still enter without an invite.

Look, getting one of those exclusive Patriot Vegas invites to the party from one of their 39 qualifiers across 21 states in 2023 is a coveted honor, but The Patriot still welcomes those who didn’t qualify and gives them the opportunity to try their hand at the big ‘ol payouts up for grabs.

Invitees

  • $1,500 entry fee
  • Two runs on one entry fee = two chances at long round money
  • Invitee Fast Pass holders qualify to short round automatically

Buy-ins

  • $2,000 entry fee
  • Top runners in each division qualify for the short round
  • Two runs on one entry fee = two chances at long round money

No. 2: Mo’ entries = Mo’ money.

Some races have a guaranteed payout, and we love that. But, here’s the cool thing about The Patriot Vegas. A flat $200 from each entry goes back to the office so the crew can continue to put on more great events, but the rest goes straight to the barrel racers. So that extra $500 the buy-in contestants pay for the opportunity to play goes right in the pot for contestants.

No. 3: The Stakes are High for Youth Athletes.

Not only is the open barrel race going to reward barrel racers for playing and feature top-notch awards, there’s an added bonus for youth barrel racers in Vegas: There’s a Hooey JR Patriot Qualifier. That means the kiddos can earn the opportunity to compete at the coveted event this March in Fort Worth, Texas, through The Patriot Vegas.

No. 4: Experience Las Vegas in its Cowboy Era.

If the allure of The Patriot Vegas isn’t enough to draw you in, there’s even more events barrel racers can try their hand at while they’re in Las Vegas. Spare that little rodeo in the Thomas & Mack—the National Finals Rodeo—that you can watch in person after your run, there’s a slew of other barrel races to keep you busy during your time in Las Vegas. The KK Run For Vegas JR World Finals, All In Barrel Race and other events will be taking place all over town. The shopping? To die for. There’s even autograph signings with the most famous cowboys and cowgirls in the world going on daily at all your favorite brands in the industry. Las Vegas turns into Cowboy Town for about two weeks, and if you’re a rodeo or barrel racing fan, there’s truly no better place to be in early December. Real talk: Dropping $2,000 on a minimum of two barrel racing runs gives you way better odds than throwing it down on red at a table.

No. 5: That incentive money, though.

Besides the high-stakes 4D payout, The Patriot Vegas also features features a $10,000 incentive purse for Select Stallion Stakes enrolled horses, and conversations are on the table for even more incentive money to be offered at the event.
