RODEOHOUSTON 2026 kicks off inside NRG Stadium March 2-21, with this year’s payout totaling $2.5 million. Here is everything you need to know about the barrel racing and the 40 girls who are set to run at one of the biggest rodeos of the year.

RodeoHouston Qualification Criteria
- Past two RodeoHouston Super Series Champions (2024 & 2025).
- One Special Invitation from HLSR Management.
- 2025 Permit Finals Champion. If co-champions exist, the tie will bebroken based upon the tie-breakers listed in the Permit Finals GroundRules.
- 2025 Waller County Fair & Rodeo Champion. If co-champions exist, thetie will be broken based upon the published 2024 official WPRA worldstandings.
- 2025 Fort Bend County Fair & Rodeo Champion. If co-champions exist,the tie will be broken based upon the published 2024 official WPRA world standings.
- Top 31 of the published 2025 official WPRA world standings.
- Top three of the published 2026 official WPRA world standings (as of Dec. 1, 2025), excluding the circuit finals, not already qualified through the above criteria.
- Any remaining or open positions will be filled from the published 2024 official WPRA world standings.
RODEOHOUSTON Format
RodeoHouston will feature five Super Series, each of which contains three rounds with eight contestants per event. The Top 4, based on total money won, in each Super Series will advance to the Semifinals.
There will be two Semifinal rounds with 10 contestants per event each round. The Top 4 in each Semifinals will advance to the Championship Round.
The remaining six girls from each Semifinals will compete in the Wild Card (a total of 12 teams). The top contestant out of each Wild Card round will advance to the Championship Round.
The Championship Round will feature 10 contestants. The Top 4 girls will return for the Championship Shootout Round that same day. The Shootout will begin immediately following the Championship Round.
RodeoHouston Payout Breakdown
RodeoHouston increased its total purse to over $2.5 million back in 2025. The breakaway has a purse of $563,000. In 2026, the RodeoHouston champions will pocket $65,000.
