2026 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo Barrel Racing Format Explained
There are 18 total performances in the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo ProRodeo Tournament barrel racing, featuring seven brackets of eight barrel racers competing in back-to-back rounds during Performances 1–14.
The tournament includes:
- One Wild Card Round (Performance 15)
- Two Semifinal Rounds (Performances 16–17)
- An eight-cowgirl Finals (Performance 18)
Performances 1–14: Progressive Rounds
There will be seven brackets of eight barrel racers competing in back-to-back rounds.
- The top two money-earning barrel racers in each bracket (14 total) will advance to the Semifinals.
- The third-highest money earner in each bracket will advance to the Wild Card Round.
- Barrel racers who do not advance will be placed into a non-qualifiers pool.
At the conclusion of Bracket 7, the top money-earning barrel racer from the non-qualifiers pool will earn the eighth and final spot in the Wild Card Round.
Performance 15: Wild Card Round
From the eight barrel racers competing in the Wild Card Round, the top two money-earners will advance to the Semifinals.
All competitors advance on a clean-slate format, with no previous money or times carried forward.
Performances 16–17: Semifinal Rounds
Barrel racers will each make one run in one of two Semifinal performances, again on a clean-slate format.
- The top four barrel racers from each performance will advance to the Finals.
Performance 18: The Finals
The top barrel racers will compete in the Finals with a clean slate — no previous times or money carried forward.
On that day, the fastest cowgirl will earn the title of 2026 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo ProRodeo Tournament Champion.
