Six-time Southeastern Circuit Finals qualifier Margo Crowther and Saylors Packin Fame left Davie, Florida, with third go-round, average, and year-end titles and $9,672.
The 2022 National Finals Rodeo (NFR) qualifier from North Fort Myers, Florida, has seen success at the circuit finals before—but nothing like she did in 2025. Her big wins in the final round and average took her from third in the standings to the No. 1 spot when it was all done.
“I go to the rodeos when I can,” Crowther said of her year. “I’m definitely goal-oriented but didn’t really look at the standings ever. I obviously wanted to make it, but it was cool how it ended up.”
A Weekend in South Florida
Crowther and Saylors Packin Fame kicked off their time at the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds with a 14.99-second run to win second in the round for $2,232.
“I went to the National Barrel Horse Association World Show and ended up fifth at the finals and won six or seven thousand,” Crowther said of their time leading up to the finals. “She’s super consistent, and I figured for the average, I would stay on her. It felt really good. I was on the last drag on that run; she handled it really well.”
“My game plan was just to go out there and have a nice clean run and get in the money,” she said of the next two runs. “I knew I had to cut some corners because of her being at the bottom of the drag, and it got kind of deep. I was truly rooting for my friends Kristin (Hanchey) and her daughter, Ryleigh. I really wanted them to win.”
Their 15.22-second run was one out of the money in the second round, but the team came back big in Round 3 with a 14.90-second run—the fastest of the finals—to win the average with a time of 45.11 seconds on three and a $4,464 check.
A Homegrown Winner
Saylors Packin Fame—“Savvy”—is a 2019 gray mare by BR Golden Leader and out of Crowther’s NFR mare Shes Packin Fame.

Savvy’s registered name is special to the family as it ties to her birthday twin, Crowther’s youngest daughter, Saylor.
“I was in labor with my daughter, Saylor,” she said of the special day in 2019. “The lady, Sue, that foals my horses out texted me literally an hour after I had Saylor. My daughter says that’s her twin.”
“She’s literally a puppy dog,” Crowther continued. “She’s definitely a lot like (BR Golden Leader), just so mentally there and strong and just easy. She’s never given me any trouble.”
In truth, preparation for the circuit finals looked a little different for Crowther than most, as her oldest daughter, Stella, has actually been in the saddle on Savvy for the past two months.
“I had to borrow her back from my daughter,” Crowther said with a smile. “That was another reason I took her to NBHA World; she had been on her since August or so and has been doing really good on Savvy.”
It’s worth noting that Savvy’s dam, Shes Packin Fame—“Sissy”—was the mare Crowther rode during her NFR appearance, where they placed in four of the 10 rounds and finished ninth in the average that year, making any win on Savvy just as special.
A Great Year
In 18 circuit rodeos and a standout performance at the circuit finals, Crowther also walked away with the Southeastern year-end title.
Savvy wasn’t the only horse on the trailer as Crowther traveled across the circuit; she was accompanied by her half-brother Prisonerr, a 2020 son of RR Mistakelly out of Sissy.

“Prisonerr won most of my circuit money,” she said. “That is why it was a tough decision taking Savvy to the circuit finals, because he is definitely one that will go out there and win by a lot. But he’s younger, and the ground is sometimes different there, and he’s still learning to stand up on some rodeo ground.”
Prisonerr did step up at a big circuit rodeo this year.
“The one that stood out was Nashville—that was super exciting for our circuit. We went up there really to see Jelly Roll and make a trip out of it with my family. But I mean, he took to that rodeo so well; that was my proud moment of the circuit this year.”
With the team qualifying for the 2026 NFR Open—and with Crowther juggling motherhood—her plans for the next season are up in the air.
“My plan really is a balance in my life with the kids and everything,” the mother of three said. “You have to have a plan A, plan B, and plan C. I’m definitely going to hit some of our circuit rodeos. But I think for the NFR Open, we will see how the horses are running at that time, and we will definitely take Prisonerr and Savvy and make a little family trip out of it.”
