The second half of NFR barrel racing 2024 is underway starting with Round 6 on Dec. 10, and the barrel racers have been carefully assembling their lineups all week long.

Rounds 6-7

Eight horses have been selected for every NFR round so far, including Round 6. Their earnings are as follows on six.

  5. Jets Top Gun, $51,345
  6. Skyy Blue, $22,820

Halyn Lide’s change is the biggest topic of Round 6, with her subbing in SR Easin Ta Heaven, or “Tottie,” owned by Lindsey Stock for the first time in the NFR.

In other news, Dona Kay Rule will swap over to NB Ladybird for the second time so far, stepping back off High Valor on the same night she draws the No. 15 position on the dirt.

Emily Beisel will stay aboard the fan-favorite gelding, Namgis D CC, or “Chongo.” She is the lone barrel racer to ride three different horses across three rounds: Ivory On Fire, Teasin Dat Guy and Chongo.
